Putting Workout measures your putting stroke on your own devices. Most of what the app records stays on your iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy explains the few things that leave your devices, why, and how to remove them.

What stays on your devices

Your practice history, stroke measurements, targets, calibration, and settings are stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch. The Watch uses Apple's workout session and motion sensors to measure your stroke; raw motion data never leaves your devices. If you turn on "Save to Apple Health", workouts are written to Health on your iPhone under Apple's Health privacy rules, and we never read Health data back.

Cue cloud answers (optional, off by default)

Cue answers its built-in topics on your iPhone. If you turn on cloud answers, the question you type and the putting facts shown on your screen at the time (for example counts, timing medians, your target, the sensor in use, distances, and the handicap and putting-strength answers you entered) are sent to our server, which asks OpenAI's model for the answer. Earlier messages are not sent. We keep each question, its answer, and your thumbs feedback for up to 24 months, filed under an anonymous code created for your installation, to improve Cue. We do not attach your name, Apple ID, email, or location. Anything you type is sent, so please do not include personal or sensitive information. Delete these records at any time from Settings › Cue › Delete my Cue data; turning cloud answers off stops new records but does not delete earlier ones.

Purchases

When you buy a plan, Apple handles payment. The app sends the App Store's signed receipt for your purchase to our server, under the same installation code, so cloud answers can be unlocked and counted against your plan's allowance. We do not receive your payment details.

Sign in with Apple

Signing in is optional for the public app and required for the friends' beta. We keep a keyed hash of the Apple identifier, and the name and email Apple provides, to recognise your account and to reach you about the beta. In the beta, your account is sent with each Cue question so the server can grant beta access; it is not stored with the question. Remove the sign-in, or delete the account and everything held under it, from Settings › Account & privacy.

Research sharing (separate opt-in)

If you choose to help build putting benchmarks, completed practice sessions are uploaded to our server linked to your account: stroke timings and confidence, Delivery values, distances, the session's sensor, its mount and software versions, the mode, how many strokes the sensor rejected and why, how many you removed, calibration and sensor-stream health, the app version, and the handicap and putting-strength answers you entered. Nothing else — no raw motion, audio, location, Health data or Cue conversations. We keep them for up to 24 months to study how golfers putt and to improve how the sensors detect putts. Turning sharing off deletes the uploaded sessions; your local history stays on your devices.

Who processes the data

Our server runs on Cloudflare (Workers and D1). Cloud answers are produced by OpenAI's API with data storage turned off on their side. Purchases and sign-in are handled by Apple. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or track you across other apps or websites.

Retention and deletion

Server records are deleted automatically after 24 months, and sooner when you delete your Cue data, withdraw research sharing, or delete your account in the app. Usage counters used for rate limits are kept for two days.

Children

Putting Workout is for adult golfers and is not directed to children under 13 (or the age of consent where you live).

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can see what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it: use the controls in the app or email support@cue.golf. Residents of the EU, UK, and California have additional rights under their local laws, which we will honour on request.
